Problem description
FrameMaker is not Unicode capable until Version 8. Up to FM7, the characters were saved internally in FrameRoman encoding. In addition, the use of so-called virtual fonts was required to display characters from different code pages with FM7.
A comparison of characters in Windows and FrameRoman encoding is not available in FrameMaker. A comparison of characters of different code pages in FrameMaker is also not available.
Function description
The script creates a list of available characters for one or more fonts.
Up to 9 fonts can be selected. Alternatively, also the characters of the available or selected code pages can be compared in FM8 or later.
Note: Beginning with FM8, the virtual fonts (except when opening FM7 documents with FM8) will be treated the same as base fonts (Arial Greek = Arial).
The following examples show three possible applications of the script:
(1) Comparing different fonts and code pages
(2) Clear list of a variety of symbols
(3) Comparison of Windows and FrameMaker encoding (not relevant for FM8)
Requirements
- FrameMaker 6.0 or higher
- FrameScript/ElmScript 4.1 or higher
- ‘TT-Info.exe’ must be in the [i]-frame folder

The script works with structured and unstructured documents.
